From Humble Beginings
Rumours opened their doors in early 2005 as a coffee shop. In 2010 we recognised that there was an opening in the area for a new trendy Bistro that offers both fine and casual dining. Serving up a variety of dishes and taking full advantage of the fresh fish caught locally, Rumours has proven to be a popular hotspot with both locals and tourists alike.
Our philosophy is simple…to serve our customers great food, in comfortable surroundings by friendly and attentive staff. We strive to use the freshest and most seasonal locally sourced ingredients, to create an eclectic menu of exciting and flavoursome dishes.
The Bistro compliments Rumours Café which is open during the day and is also a popular choice throughout the Summer season. The Café is closed through the winter Season, however the Bistro remains open throughout the year, but closes for the month of January.

Born and raised in Dublin our Head Chef Eddie Brady developed his love for cooking from a very early age, watching the skills and professionalism of his father who was also a chef and owner of the Old Dublin Restaurant in Francis Street, Dublin.
Eddie started his formal training in Athlone RTC and began his work experience in hotel Kilkenny among various restaurants in the Dublin region. Liason Restaurant Clontarf is where his passion grew, Liason won many awards and here Eddie worked under Irish & UK Chef Patricia Plunkett. In his time cooking he got to cook for many famous names such as Demi Moore, Bruce Willis, Silvestor Stallone, David & Victoria Beckham to name but a few.
Moving to the south west of Ireland Eddie secured the position of junior Sous Chef alongside Philip Brazil at the Aghadoe Heights Hotel, Killarney advancing his skills and knowledge.
Eddies view on cooking is to keep it simple using the finest locally sourced ingredients. Eddie has many favourite dishes one being carmelized scallops with Tomato Tartar Sauce & Green Bean Salad with Lemon Dressing and of course Lemon Tart.
